17 Christmas Haul Ideas
If you’re like me and you love to shop the after-Christmas sales, you probably have a ton of Christmas decorations. But, what do you do with them all?
I love finding new ways to use old Christmas decorations to create a fresh new look in my home. That’s why I put together this list of 17 Christmas Haul Decor Ideas.
1. Go for the gold (and silver)
If you’re not a fan of traditional Christmas colors, you can still embrace the season with metallics. This Christmas tree is decorated with gold and silver ornaments, and the presents below are wrapped to match.
This is a great way to keep your gifts looking cohesive, even if you’re using different wrapping paper designs.
2. Make a statement with a single color
If you’re not a fan of traditional red and green, consider picking one color and using it in various shades. This Christmas haul is a great example of how to pull off a monochromatic look.
The different shades of pink and rose gold give the space a cohesive look without being over the top.
3. Add some sparkle
This is the one time of year where it’s totally acceptable to go overboard with the sparkle! I love adding glittery ornaments and twinkle lights to my home.
I also found this gorgeous glittery garland, a sparkly Christmas tree, and this gorgeous nutcracker to add some extra shine to my living room.
4. Make a winter wonderland
If you love Christmas as much as we do, you’ll be looking for any excuse to deck out your home in holiday decorations. You can make your home a winter wonderland with all of the Christmas decor hauls you can find on YouTube.
From ornaments to garland to candles, you can find just about anything you need to make your home look like it came straight from the North Pole.
5. Bring the beach to your Christmas decor
In my house, we love the beach. We love the ocean, the sand, the colors, the vibe, everything. So when I saw these beachy Christmas trees at Target, I knew I needed them.
I love the idea of creating a Christmas tree forest on your mantle or a side table. You can even use mini trees like these to create a tablescape or to decorate a tiered tray.
6. Go with a modern color scheme
If you’re not a fan of traditional Christmas colors, you can still get in the holiday spirit with a modern color scheme. We love the black, white, and green look in this living room. The black and white buffalo check pillows and greenery add just the right amount of Christmas vibes to the space.
Tip: If you’re not sure where to start with your modern color scheme, try picking two colors and then adding in neutrals to keep the look cohesive.
7. Add some non-traditional colors
Who says Christmas decor has to be red and green? This stunning living room from Monica Benavidez is decorated with a color scheme of blue, white, and gold. The result is a space that’s still festive but doesn’t look like your typical holiday decor.
Monica’s tree is stunning and we love how she added a couple of smaller trees to the room to tie in the color scheme.
8. Decorate with a theme
If you’re not a fan of the traditional red and green Christmas colors, then you’re in luck! There are so many other beautiful color schemes and themes to choose from.
A few of our favorite Christmas themes right now are winter wonderland, pastel, and candyland.
9. Make your mantel the focal point
Whether you have a working fireplace or not, the mantel is a great spot to create a festive focal point in your living room.
Use a garland, a sign, and some stockings to create a layered look, and sprinkle in some of your favorite decor pieces to add a little extra personality.
10. Decorate with ornaments
If you’re not into the traditional red and green ornaments, there are so many other colors and styles to choose from. I’ve been loving the more neutral and pastel color palettes for Christmas, and I found the prettiest ornaments at Walmart.
You can also use ornaments in unique ways like hanging them on a chandelier, placing them in a bowl, or even creating an ornament garland.
11. Add a little greenery
Greenery can make anything look more festive! Add a little Christmas tree, a wreath, or a few branches to your space to make it feel a little more like Christmas!
I love adding a little greenery to my desk or a side table in my room to make the space feel festive without going overboard!
12. Make a Christmas village
If you’re looking for a way to display all of your new goodies, consider creating a Christmas village. You can use a tiered tray, a bookshelf, or even a mantel. Add in some bottle brush trees, some fake snow, and some twinkle lights for a magical display.
You can also use this idea to create a village of your own with all of the new items you’ve collected. Create a little scene with some of your favorite pieces and then display them all together.
13. Put some presents under the tree
This is the most obvious way to decorate your Christmas tree and your living room, but it is a must! Make sure to put some presents under the tree for a festive look.
You can wrap empty boxes or actual gifts and place them under the tree. I love to add a few presents to my tree as well.
14. Add some holiday cheer to your bedroom
If you’re not quite ready to deck the halls of your entire home, you can still add a touch of holiday cheer to your bedroom with a few festive pieces.
I found this adorable Christmas tree quilt set, a festive throw pillow, and a set of Christmas tree wall decals to add a little holiday magic to this bedroom.
15. Decorate your dining room

You can even add some Christmas decor to your china hutch or sideboard to make the room feel extra special. And don’t forget to add some holiday touches to your place settings, too!
16. Decorate with holiday-themed bedding
It’s not just the living room that should be decked out in holiday decor. Add some Christmas cheer to your bedroom, too!
I love the look of a festive duvet cover or a set of Christmas-themed flannel sheets. You can even find holiday bedding for kids and teens, too!
17. Add some holiday cheer to your bathroom
This adorable Christmas shower curtain will make your bathroom look like a winter wonderland. Add some red and green towels, a cute rug, and a festive candle to complete the look. You can even add a mini tree if you’re feeling extra!
Pro tip: If you don’t want to go all out with the decor, just switching out your regular towels for some red and green ones is an easy way to add a festive touch to your bathroom.
